Sleep Disorder Center

Bon Secours Sleep Disorders Centers consist of several private bedrooms and a sophisticated control area that monitors brain, heart, muscle and breathing activity while you sleep. This information helps physicians with expertise in sleep disorders make accurate diagnoses of sleep-related health problems. While these tests often confirm patterns that the physician already suspected, they further help determine the intensity and disruptive effects of sleep disorder. Then, the physician can prescribe an appropriate treatment program and help restore your natural sleep pattern.

Patients referred to the center stay over night. Occasionally a second night’s evaluation is needed. You will be scheduled to arrive at 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and should plan to spend at least 6-8 hours in the center. Your physician may order a day-time study. Typically you will arrive early in the morning and stay approximately eight hours.
