The Center maintains the National Eldercare Locator number: 1-800-677-1116. If anyone suspects that an elder is the victim of neglect, abuse or exploitation or is self-neglecting, call the National Eldercare Locator (Locator) to obtain the correct telephone number in your area to report such situation.
Note that the names of reporters are kept confidential. Reminder that if immediate danger is present, contact the local law enforcement agency. If you are a caregiver and need help or do not know where to go for help, the Locator can connect you to local services.
