Public Housing

Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority (BRHA) manages the public housing program, housing choice voucher program and tax credit program.  There are some apartments that are handicapped accessible (some visual/hearing impaired units available). Two high-rise buildings offer efficiency and one bedroom units with laundry facilities on-site. Buildings and units are convenient to bus routes, churches, grocery stores, downtown shopping and interstate travel. Pets allowed with proper pet deposit and application.

Rent is based on 30% of family income with generous maximum income limits used to determine eligibility; flat rents; minimum rent is required. Standard Utility Allowance Included with rent (Excess utilities are Billed to Residents)

Program applications accepted online only.  Pre-application should be submitted. Once it has been submitted, you will receive a phone call and a letter stating your appointment date and time to begin processing your full application.

Special programs are offered to seniors and persons with disabilities living in the public housing units.

Activities available are picnics, dinners, music presentations, and resident association meetings in the social hall. Support groups and counseling are available for stress management, substance abuse, elderly and/or disabled case management, Senior Volunteer Program, homemaker assistance, crisis intervention and budget counseling.
