Independent Living for Seniors

Fishing Bay Estates is a mixed income apartment complex serving seniors and individuals with a disability of any age.  There are 15 one bedroom apartments.  The Estates' energy efficient, terrace-level apartments have the following: a large bedroom with lots of storage space, separate kitchen with electric range and frost-free refrigerator (some with dishwasher), bath with tub/shower, living room/dining room combination, and covered porch.  The units have carpeted or laminate floors, air conditioning and some have features that make them more accessible to persons with disabilities.  No residency requirement.

There are no asset limits, but the adjusted gross annual income (gross income minus medical/disability deductions)  normally cannot exceed the moderate income limits set annually for Middlesex County, VA by USDA Rural Development.  Temporally, there are no maximum income limits.  HUD Section 8 vouchers are accepted and as available, USDA 521 Rental Assistance.
