Who We Are

Tidewater Gardens is a public housing complex. Public Housing, also known as subsidized housing or assisted-rental housing, providing decent rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. Housing ranges from single-family houses to high-rise apartments for seniors.

NRHA's Housing operations division administers apartments in 16 Norfolk neighborhoods and provides a variety of support services to help residents of public housing improve their lives.

Tidewater Gardens was named because of its location on Tidewater Drive. It was first occupied in 1955 and has 618 units on 44 acres.
